"I feel mixed feelings about losing the weight," the 40-year-old Smith told Joy Behar on her HLN show Tuesday.
"I sympathize far more with heavier people than I ever will with thin," he said. "I'll never be thin."
While Smith said the airline incident started him thinking about losing weight, it wasn't because he was ashamed of being fat.
"I felt at that moment, I was like, 'You know what? I'll lose the weight, but I'm not putting on thinner clothes,'" he said. "Because why? I'm still the same person I was when I was 65 pounds heavier."
"Let's be honest, I've lost 65 pounds, but nobody's going, 'I wanna sleep with you!'" he joked. "They're just like, 'Keep going, you look better.'"
So basically don't count on Kevin Smith to become a sex symbol. Done.
