Caroline fell hostage to Jules and her wolf pack on this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries.
Daddy issues weren't the only thing plaguing the vampires and humans on The Vampire Diaries this week. On this week's episode ofThe Vampire Diaries, called Daddy Issues, Tyler (Michael Trevino) confronted Caroline (Candice Accola) about her little Damon and Stefan secret and things went from bad to worse when Jules took her hostage.
Tyler demands answers and Jules takes a hostage
Tyler, still reeling from the knowledge that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are vampires, shows up at Caroline's door demanding to know which one killed his Uncle Mason. Caroline tries reasoning with the pissed off werewolf but he sulks off, all but insinuating they are no longer friends. Caroline appeals to Stefan's good nature and convinces the vampire to talk to Tyler.
Damon wants to know two things: Why is Johnathan Gilbert back in town and what does he know about Klaus? Johnathan lets the cat out of the bag to everyone that he is Elena's (Nina Dobrev) real father. He and Damon demand trust from each other before they'll share information that will protect Elena.
Jonas assures Bonnie (Katerina Graham) that he will make sure Elena's friends stay safe based on her agreement with Klaus -- but Bonnie is still mad Luka lied to her.
While Stefan is trying to assure Tyler that the old school vampire and werewolf rivalry doesn't have to exist in the present, Caroline is taken hostage by Jules -- but not before she agrees to meet Matt for a talk later.
Caroline becomes a victim and loses a friend
Caroline wakes up in a cage and the pain begins. Jules makes a call to Stefan demanding to know where Tyler is after he doesn't answer his phone. She gives Stefan a listening party of Caroline being tortured at the hands of one of her wolf pack buddies, Brady -- who may be a new key player. She will kill Caroline if he doesn't bring her Tyler. Caroline is continually tortured with bullets, darts and vervain spray to the face.
Stefan fills Damon and Elena in on the situation and the two Salvatore brothers show up with Tyler in hand. Damon wants to kick some wolf tail but Stefan wants to make peace. At the sound of a whistle, the boys are surrounded by werewolves in human form -- but they have weapons. As the battle ensues, Tyler comes across Caroline and hesitates at opening the cage.
It looks like Damon and Stefan are about to be staked as Tyler comes to his senses and releases Caroline. Jules stops her and points a gun at her head with a wooden bullet. Tyler again hesitates to help. Jonas shows up and works a little magic to take the pack down minus Tyler because he is Elena's friend. Damon, Stefan and Caroline run for it. Jonas gives a warning to Tyler -- tell your friends to leave.
Tyler gives in to the werewolves and Caroline's friends rally
Tyler shows up at Caroline's to talk but she won't forgive him for even thinking about not helping her. He's shown his colors and they are no longer friends. He retreats to Jules and cozies up to his new "family." Caroline also makes another tough choice when she lies to Matt about where she was when they were supposed to meet. Of course, she can't tell him she was being tortured so she lies again which makes Matt wonder even more.
In an attempt to "prove" he can be trusted, John gives Damon a dagger and some tree ash. If dipped into the ash and plunged into the heart of an original, the dagger will destroy him. Really? Is John to be trusted? The only reason we ask is because during the closing scene he was shown with Katherine in the tomb. What was he doing there? Promising to get her out, of course.
