Goth girls rejoice! You now have a poster child in Rooney Mara. Just kidding, of course, but the shots released from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's on-set W Magazine shoot certainly take goth glam to a whole new level.

This is star Rooney Mara like we've never seen her before.

The shots feature Mara on a motorcycle, lighting a cigarette and half naked in the snow.

The film, based on the novel by Stieg Larsson, stars Mara and Daniel Craig and is currently in production. Mara plays Lisbeth Salander, a seriously troubled computer hacker, who helps Craig's journalist solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of an heiress and resolve a libel suit he has hanging over his head.

Oops, I meant "Noomi" not "Noomie."

Noomie Rapace IS Lisbeth Salander, and I personally doubt that Rooney will be able to live up to Rapace's performance. I am still curious to see how she does, though. Apparently Rapace was offered the role of Lisbeth in the American version, but she turned it down (understandably, she'd have to replay the whole character, but I still really wish she could have done it again).

Sorry, but the original girl was much better suited for the role. Mara doesn't look tough, just starved.rent out the original version and see for yourself.
