Selena Gomez is receiving death threats after photos were posted of her and Justin Bieber kissing on vacation.

Disney star Selena Gomez is the target of multiple death threats and general Internet troll ugliness after photos were released of her kissing Justin Bieber on a sultry beach vacation.

Similar to the reaction Kim Kardashian's beach photoshoot with the 16-year-old teen idol elicited, Twitter lit up with the vitriol of millions of Bieber fans.

Some choice ill-wishes of America's future include:

"@selenagomez If you are the Girlfriend of Justin I will Kill you I HATE YOU :@ !!!"

What these angry teens (hopefully teens, not lonely middle-aged women) don't realize is what they're doing could be a federal crime -- if the bullying escalates.

Any threats given over the Internet have federal jurisdiction, which means that if the threats become more specific or are accompanied by any action that could be construed as actionable, Gomez could ask the FBI to get involved -- and a conviction would mean a felony and jail time.

Remember that the next time the thought of cyberbullying crosses your mind -- especially the love interests of your current crush, like Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber.
