Fantasia's tough decision

Fantasia Barrino testified in court that her failed suicide attempt was caused by a heartbreaking decision.

Fantasia is embroiled in a court battle between her married lover Antwaun Cook and his ex Paula -- a divorce proceeding caused by their affair. In open court, Fantasia testified that she had an abortion right before she tried to take her own life.

The singer is being questioned about her relationship with Antwaun in order to prove the two had an adulterous relationship, leading to the demise of his marriage.

Fantasia testified that she dated Antwaun on and off for 11 months but believed him to be separated. Paula's lawyers believe the fact that the singer got a secret hotel room with Antwaun just days after they first met proves otherwise.

"Paula's lawyer is arguing that they got the room because she knew he was still married," said an in-court onlooker.

Paula is now considering suing Fantasia for alienation of affection.

Fantasia tried to take her own life in August by overdosing on aspirin. In a television interview afterwards she said, "It just became heavy for me, so I just wanted to be away from the noise."
