American Idol star Chris Daughtry, 30, and his wife welcomed fraternal twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James on Wednesday. The twins were conceived via gestational surrogacy.
"Our family is overwhelmed with joy by these two precious gifts from God," Daughtry said on his website. "The babies are both healthy and resting. Thanks to everyone for their love and prayers."
Adalynn Rose was born first at 11:05 am and weighed 6-pounds 5-ounces; Noah James was born second at 11:25 am and weighed 5-pounds and 5-ounces.
The couple is already parents to Hannah and Griffin.
Deanna had a partial hysterectomy four years ago, therefore the twins were conceived via IVF and then transferred to a gestational surrogate.
Sarah Jessica Parker also used a surrogate to carry her twins.
"Deanna and I are overjoyed about this double blessing," Daughtry said. "Thank you for your expressions of love and support and for respecting our privacy during this special time."
