Portia De Rossi's
Dwts Debut?

Will Portia de Rossi be a part of the first same-sex pairing on Dancing With the Stars? The news of a possible Portia de Rossi Dancing With the Stars casting has been spreading ever since Ryan Seacrest talked to the star about a possible same-sex pairing next season. Even Kelly Osbourne got in on the gossip.

Portia De Rossi

On an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Friday, November 12, Kelly Osbourne grilled the comedian over Portia de Rossi's Dancing With the Stars future.

Ellen says it could happen

"I have a question," Kelly Osbourne told Ellen DeGeneres. "Is it true that Portia [de Rossi] is going to do [Dancing With the Stars]?"

"I heard that Portia de Rossi might be doing Dancing With the Stars," Ellen DeGeneres replied.

After news starting leaking that there might be a same-sex couple on next season's DWTS, Kelly Osbourne couldn't help but root for Ellen DeGeneres' wife.

"You should do it like they did it in Israel with the same-sex couple," Kelly gushed. "I think it's amazing. The dancing is so much better when they do the two women together. I've been watching it every week and it's fabulous."

What does Ellen DeGeneres think of Portia de Rossi, or DeGeneres if you go by her new legal name, dancing with a woman that isn't her?

Is Ellen the jealous type?

"It's an art form and in dancing it doesn't matter. We are just so used to seeing a man and woman dancing together," Ellen explained to Osbourne. "I think that's great that they're going to do that."

Kellly Osborne on Ellen

With the semi-finals of Dancing With the Stars season 11 still underway, it's still too early to guess who will be lighting up the DWTS ballroom floor next season. Wouldn't it be pretty stellar to see Portia de Rossi race for the mirrorball trophy? Female or male partner aside, she used to be a ballet dancer back in the day, and she'd most likely give us a show week after week.

After her recent admission to struggling with a past eating disorder and eating only 300 calories per day at one time, her support system has been stronger than ever. Maybe now is the time to get out there and do it, while she's braver than ever.

Check out Kelly Osbourne's interview with Ellen DeGeneres Friday, November 12.

What do you think of the news that Portia de Rossi might don some dancing shoes?

Claudia888 December 02, 2010 | 8:38 AM

SO SICK OF PORTIA!! and her whining and spewing about her fuxking problems! PUHLEEEAAASE! Why is this bimbo fake dyke all the rage? who gives a rats behind? DWTS is a lame show as is Ellen's housewife show. Ellen IS NOT FRIENDLY! how many people are on her show huh??????? For Chrixt sake people stop putting Ellen and her anorexic bimbo GF on such a high pedestal! Ellen is talentless and her stupid dancing is old, she use to be funny but big ass deal! Portia is a D list actor and without makeup is butt uglY! SO sick of these two azzholes I could puke all over them! DIE ELLEN DIE PORTIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BARF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope Portia does the show! I really don't care who she dances with, girl or guy, I'd just watch it because she's great. However, based on the previous comments I hope that they DO have a same- couple on there, just in the hopes that some of them might watch it, and realize that their world doesn't come crashing down around them. And maybe that two people deciding to do something you disagree with is NOT the same thing as 'forcing it down' your throat. You know what would be forcing it down your throat? if they made YOU dance with somebody you didn't want to. Or forced you to watch their show.

After reading these comments I now understand why Bristol Palin is still on the show. She should have been voted off a long time ago but it appears that DWTS has a tremendous close-minded, right-wing, teaparty following who will never be able to accept people for who they are. I for one say bring on the same- dance couples, why not?

Don't like s or DWTS. Don't even know how I ended up on this blog.

Steve November 16, 2010 | 8:13 PM

Is there no vestige left that s will not turn into a political "RALLY" to push THEIR agenda? Alright already. I get it. You're and you're proud....BFD. I am straight but you don't see me running around pushing my agenda on everybody else. Do you? Let us alone for awhile. Please. I have been "ed" to death already. STOP IT. I mean it. Quit it. You have won the big battle. So leave me alone. Let me enjoy at least one program without your infiltration. DAMN.

It looks like my Monday & Tues. DWTS time slot will be open now. I am sure there are other shows to watch or maybe I'll just read a book instead. I am very tired of the issue being pushed inch by inch. Do whatever you need to do in your home but why are you trying to push to far? The only thing that is going to happen is we will have to choose to turn those shows off and vote no on all issues because they can't handle themselfs and stop.

Ditto Spencer!!! What about potential children (heteroual or homoual)reading articles on the internet and seeing this ugliness? The article doesn't have anything I would worry for my children to read, but these posts are full of evil and hatred!!! Some people are so ugly in their hearts!! All hypocrites, they don't know what friends or love is!!

Spencer November 16, 2010 | 3:12 PM

"I have friends that are too but..." "I'm not against s at all, I have best friends that are but..." "Some of my closest friends are and I love them but..." These hypocritical qualifiers amaze me, all of you sound as bigoted and close-minded as those who don't want TV "fagged up." Go tell all your friends you "love" the same things you type from the privacy of your computer: how inappropriate and dirty you really think they are, and see how close you are then.

Lou Lou November 16, 2010 | 2:56 PM

Sorry, meant to say "You know WHO will win..... The whole affair would be ludicrous. You can just hear all the commentators, judges, critics and media gushing effusively over their performances like no one's ever seen dance before.

Lou Lou November 16, 2010 | 2:52 PM

If she's on the show with another woman, you know you will win....Unless all the teams are same-, the curiosity factor and the vote will keep her in the race even if she and her partner are no good at classic, traditional ballroom dancing. Get ready to jump the shark, DWTS. It's coming.

Jessie November 16, 2010 | 2:51 PM

Okay people, they have professionals on this show and they dance with the opposite , why change that now? Seriously it is ridiculous to think their ratings will go up if they pull an ignorant stunt like that. At least one of the judges is and even he is able to deal with the fact that competitive dancing consists of male and female. If they want to do same couple dancing, which ABSOLUTELY makes it ONLY about , then they need to do it on a paid channel or somewhere that families don't have to even pass the channel with their kids in the room. Seriously, I have friends that are too but I'd prefer not to watch them make out, just like I don't make out with my husband in public simply to keep from offending others. I am so sick of people with old fashioned views getting walked on and spat at...get real people!!!

Non-Hater November 16, 2010 | 2:40 PM

Seriously, haters are getting old!! Shove what in your face?!! Forcing what on anyone?! I've danced with my female friends many times? Are you guys getting aroused by this? Why would anyone be offended unless their minds were in an ugly place to begin with?!!There are many dance forms and there have been male/ male female /female dancers perform/dance together many times before? Why is this such an outrage? I guess it shows the type of people who watch DWTS, definitly narrow minded. I rarely even watch, but if they do have a same couple, maybe I will change my mind.

SALLY November 16, 2010 | 1:42 PM

SERIOUSLY!!! Every where you turn there they are, and it is fine I dont care what people do behind closed doors or with their lives but dont try and push it on other people. Young children watch this show and shouldnt be exposed to this. I didnt even know that there was a kids show where a fifth grader was questioning his uality!! Give me a break at that age all kids should be worried about is what games they will be playing at reeses time. You have to wonder if someone is really "" or if they just think that way cause of what is going on around them.

Annette November 16, 2010 | 1:42 PM

I'm not against s at all, I have best friends that are but I will not watch dwts if there is a same dance couple. Thats ridiculous. I watch this show with my kids and I dont think its appropriate. That would be a big mistake. It is considered to me a family show which you can watch with the whole family. Please to all the producers axe the idea or I wont be watching.

martha h November 16, 2010 | 12:29 PM

It's not about being prejudiced against s. Some of my closest friends are and I love them but enough with trying to force it down everyone's throat. Dancing with The Stars is my favorite show and I would hate to not watch it but I think I would have a different feeling if they think Portia has to dance with a woman. If she wants to dance it should be with a man. It would be a big media spectacle and would take away from the show. Everyone is free to do what they want on their own time but when you have a family show it should be held to some standard.

Bobby November 16, 2010 | 10:44 AM

This is a family show with kids watching! If a man can get a sheep to dance, can he join DTWS? No. How about a famous prostitute on the show? No. How about an ex Florida teacher who has kids from a sudent? No. Enough of the freaks. I hope the advertisers put a stop to this. It's not a freak show. Dancing between a man and woman is NATURAL. The whole set will smell like a fish market. I will NOT watch if this happens and I hope the public votes the idiot off quickly if this happens.

STOP!!! November 16, 2010 | 10:25 AM

I'm with bwitzenman! I'm sick of shows fagging it up, with men/men and women/women. Weird, immoral, and just gross. I don't have to accept their disgusting lifestyle, and the Bible is clear about where these sinners will spend eternity. This world gets worse every day, and the devil loves to toy with people's minds.
