Taylor Swift Burns John Mayer

Taylor Swift reveals the inspiration behind her brutal song Dear John: John Mayer.

Taylor Swift

Finally a confirmation on what we all thought but was denied by the pair: Taylor Swift dated John Mayer, and he was a tool.

Taylor's new album is full of juicy confessions -- including how badly she feels about treating Taylor Lautner like crap -- but the best one by far is the little ditty she penned for John Mayer.

Some choice lyrics from Dear John:

"Dear John/I see it all now that you're gone/Don't you think I was too young/To be messed with/The girl in the dress/Cried the whole way home/I should've known."

And:

"It was wrong/Don't you think nineteen's too young/To be played/By your dark, twisted games/When I loved you so."

And also:

"You'll add my name to your long list of traitors who don't understand/And I'll look back in regret I ignored what they said/'Run as fast as you can.'"

Love it!

While theoretically this song could be about any ex, Swift has admitted in interviews that she did actually name names on this album -- and this song has the only proper name in the collection.

Swift and Mayer were rumored to be dating during the winter of 2010 after being spotted together in Texas and LA. Mayer has also been tied to Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston.

OMG..She pretty much got rejected, and she's upset about that? What do you expect from J.Mayer? He's a player and obviously he got in her pants, played with her, and left her. That's why she's mad. Dude, just because you're a celebrity doesn't mean that every guy in the world should love you. You're just a cheap/easy bed partner. If she didn't want to get hurt, then she shouldn't have gone out with J.Mayer OR think she had a chance with a player like him. Players are gonna play LOL. He has a reputation already, why did she even try? Well, I can't wait til J.Mayer exposes her like how he exposed Simpson and Aniston. Karma's a **tch. XD

TAYLOR'S CONFESSIONS ARE GETTING A LITTLE OLD. I PERSONALLY DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HER AND I'M KIND OF ON THE FENCE ABOUT HER NEW ALBUM, BECAUSE I'M NOT SURE IF I WILL ACTUALLY PURCHASE HER MATERIAL,AFTER LISTENING TO SOME TRACKS, I AM DISAPOINTED, I WAS LOOKING FOR VARIETY, YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WORLD AND LIFE, IT SEEMS ALL SHE IS INTERESTED IN IS BOYS, HOW MANY SONGS CAN ONE PERSON WRITE ABOUT A DAM BOY AND THERE BAD WAYS BEFORE IT BECOMES REPETITIVE...SHE IS A BORE AND SHE HAS NOTHING AGAINST REAL ARTISTS SUCH AS, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, MIRANDA LAMBERT, HILLARY SCOTT, AND SO FORTH, NOW THESE WOMEN ARE NOT RULED BY THE MAN THEY ACTUALLY SING ABOUT INSPIRING AND UPLIFTING MEANINGFULL STUFF...SOMETHING TAYLOR SHOULD TAKE SOME NOTES...AND WHILE SHES ADD IT, SINGING LESSONS WOULDNT HURT.

How will John Mayer ever find "the one" with this kind of PR? Is there a woman on this planet who doesn't know about his reputation? IF this is true, how does it feel to be kissed and told on, sir?

I'm sorry. I love Taylor, but I am sick and tired of her playing the victim in EVERY SINGLE SONG. It's kind of ridiculous that the first song she ever wrote that wasn't completely self important (Back to December) appears on her THIRD cd. Seriously, I'm almost done with this girl. Her voice isn't that great and while I'll always loves her lyrics I'm tired of her criticizing people around her so terribly in her songs and (save for the song she wrote about Taylor) acting like she's flawless and above them. I'm just - I'm just done with this crap.

Taylor is VERY mature for her age. I think songs are about what connect with people and this song is NOT about age but about the feelings and emotions that come with a heartbreak. Relationships are complicated and each one is VERY different especially in the public eye.

she is such a baby! she's supposed to be 20 now??? then stop acting like a child! i mean seriously, slagging people off in her songs (which is mostly what she does, bar the song that she supposedly wrote about Taylor Lautner)is so childish and dumb...one would think that's her only way to get publicity, dating people for a while then dumping them or being dumped to have stuff to write about...maybe she should work as a gossip reporter instead of being a singer? cuz a) she can't sing and b) she can't write and c) i think it's a disgrace for the really big country singers that Swift is the one winning awards that other singers with real talent deserved, but karma's a and as much as i can't stand kanye but i'm starting to agree with his behaviour from back then...lol

yah I totally agree with you Lana. I love Taylor too and am looking forward to her new CD but that girl should have known better. John Mayor is a major tool just look at how he treated Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson. And the wierd part is that those ladies are old enough to be Taylor's mom!!!

I love Taylor Swift, don't get me wrong. But isn't it a little werid that a 19 year old dated a 33 year old? What did she expect was going to come out of that relationship?
