What's Going On With Boyle & DWTS?

Susan Boyle's visit to Dancing With the Stars has been cancelled and Michael Bolton is stepping in to sing on the Dancing with the Stars results show. Immediately, a question comes to mind: Will Bruno Tonioli apologize to Michael Bolton for his comments about his dancing?

Michael Bolton

Just yesterday, SheKnows reported that Susan Boyle would be hitting the Dancing With the Stars stage to perform Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. We were confident there'd be no repeat of the drama that kept her from performing Lou Reed's Perfect Day on America's Got Talent last month.

This time, however, there's no drama. It's just a medical thing. Susan Boyle, the 49-year-old mega-hit caught something during her flight from Scotland.

"Her doctor advised her not to sing due to a severe throat infection," a rep said. "Susan is very upset at letting her fans down. Their continued support means so much to her."

Boyle may end up making an appearance, even though she can't croon, and if her schedule permits, DWTS may just call her back to the stage for another episode. She still has time to promote her new album, The Gift, which goes on sale November 9 and is already breaking records in presales.

Meanwhile, even more surprising than Boyle's having to back out is her replacement -- shafted contender Michael Bolton!

Just last week, Judge Bruno Tonioli's critique of Michael Bolton's jive was making news. After Bruno called his Hound Dog performance the worst jive in show history, Bolton was sent packing.

An insulted Bolton went on to tell Good Morning America the judge owed him an apology, especially because Mother Bolton had flown all the way out to see the show.

"While we respect the feelings of our celebrities and dancers, we don't feel Bruno should be expected to apologize for doing his job," DWTS producers said in a statement.

Fans are quite curious how tonight's Bruno-Bolton reunion will go!

Ne-Yo will also take the stage tonight to debut his new single, One in a Million, and of course, one of the remaining celeb contenders will be sent home.

Teams still in the game are Kyle and Lacey, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, The Situation and Karina, Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas, Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke, Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel, Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya and an injured Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani.

The Dancing With the Stars results show with Michael Bolton and Ne-Yo airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Not a Michael Bolton fan, but tonight on Dancing With the Stars, Judge Bruno would never be able to perform in a dance as beautifully as Michael performed in singing "Hallelujah." Michael, I think you got three tens tonight, and all of them should have been from Bruno.

I am so happy that the women on DWTS are wearing clothes this season. Host Brooke nearly popped out on the first night, in an inappropriate outfit, but since then, it's been better. The female pros are looking more like professional ballroom dancers than pole dancers. Thank you.

I hope that he would do a Weird Al Yankovic style rewrite of one of his songs to criticize Bruno, but he probably won't. Something like: So you say that you can't go on Bruno left you angry And you say all your hope is gone And what's the use in tryin' What you need is to have some faith and stand up for yourself Oh, nothing is a sad as it seems, you know 'Cause someday you'll have your chance Someday, you'll get the chance Somehow you'll get to prove them wrong Somehow you can get it right. -----My quickie rewrite of the first portion of Time Love and Tenderness. That would be cool.

I am so embarrassed for Michael Bolton to come back on the show. He really is humorless, pathetic, and totally untalented. At least Buzz Aldrin is a very old man. Florence Henderson is amazing to do as well as she does for a 76 year old woman. Michael Bolton, what is your excuse? You will do anything to get back into the spotlight, kind of like Jake Pavelka.

Jude: Michael was definately NOT the worse in 'the history of the show'. There have been much worse 'dancers'. One of them, Buzz Aldrin. Yes..he's a hero and such, but come one...his partner was smart to give him just 'walking' moves, but he was terrible. Should have been the first to get booted last year!!! I also think Bruno was the harshest, last week, than he has ever been. He usually gives at least a point more than Len when rating some of the 'not-so-good' contestants. We don't know what Bruno's agenda was; but I am prepared to watch an awkward apology tonite!! Also...last nights performance by Derek and Jennifer deserved a much higher score than what they got--IMO!!!!!

What a joke!! Michael Bolton is upset by a judges statement. Michael Bolton doesn't sing, he screams. Michael Bolton sure can't dance. He was the worse "star" to attempt to dance in the history of the show. Why on Earth would Bruno owe Michael an apology, when he is simply stating the truth. I think that Micheal is so wimpy that he can't handle the truth!!

I LOVE Michael Bolton's singing...........grrr8888 husky voice, BUT it amazed me that someone that has spent so many years performing to some of the all time great music and God knows many many great hits, that he has absolutley no rhythm..............

Michael Bolton has proved to the world three things: He cannot sing, he cannot dance and therefore he definitely has no talent!!

Judges have been harsh in the past when very good dancers had already been eliminated in favor of very poor, but popular dancers. This occurred five or six weeks in, though. Bruno's brutal panning at the SECOND WEEK was unprecedented - and really I don't think Bruno has ever been so hard on anyone at any point in the competition. It deserves, if not an apology, at least an explanation.

Michael Bolton was paid a lot of money so he should put on his big boy pants and take it like a man. Bruno can be pretty weird and his off the wall comments are to be expected.

Jasmine October 05, 2010 | 10:58 AM

Bruno doesn't owe Michael Bolton an apology. Michael knew what to expect when he signed up for the show. Perhaps he should have warned the judges beforehand that his ego is so fragile that he can only handle gently-worded comments.

ABC is doing the right thing in having Michael Bolton perform tonight. My confidence in ABC is restored, MB has been such a gentlemen about this, I glad he has had more attention focused on him because of Bruno,s very negative comment. Bruno is a DRAMA QUEEN!

I think that Bruno does owe Michael Bolton an apology. Bruno's remarks were the "worst in show history". Bolton is the bigger man for agreeing to sing on the result show.
