Bristol Shakes Off The "Boring!"
Everybody's buzzing: Bristol Palin surprised the judges with her Cha Cha, but did she win over the Dancing With the Stars audience? With a score of 18, Bristol seems to be in the game. We'll find out when the votes come in on tonight's Dancing With the Stars!
Bristol Palin started off by insisting she's "just a regular girl," but she also faced the music, in terms of being the daughter of Sarah Palin. She even admitted her song, Momma Told Me Not To Come, made her think of her mom's warnings to stay away from baby daddy Levi Johnston.
Of course, momma Sarah Palin wasn't in the house and even though Bristol embraced her political fame roots, she also showed she was ready to shed her mother's image in the first few steps of her Cha Cha -- literally!
Bristol took the stage in a conservative election-worthy pantsuit, but then ripped it off to reveal an uber hot little red dress.
Her moves weren't perfect and consensus was that she needs to pump up her performance next time, but as Bruno Tonioli gushed, Bristol shook her hips and worked the floor with two-time champ Mark Ballas.
"I completely thought you were going to come out here and be boring and not have anything exciting. I was so wrong!" judge Carrie Ann Inaba raved. "Bristol, you have fantastic legs. The way you step on your leg, the way you undulate your body, Bristol, I see a future for you!"
Bristol's score of 18 doesn't put her in the Dancing With the Stars lead, but it did keep her out of the three-way tie for last. Jennifer Grey is at the top with a score of 24; while Margaret Cho, The Situation and David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff share the bottom spot with 15.
"At first, she was a complete fish out of water and she'd never done anything like this," teammate Mark admitted. "Now, she's shaking that booty and getting crazy, so I'm proud of her. She did a great job!"
Tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC, DWTS: The Results Show will see Brandy, Cho, Grey, Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge, Michael Bolton, Rick Fox, Hasselhoff, Kyle Massey, The Situation or Kurt Warner sent packing. The judges don't seem to expect to see Bristol Palin go, but you never know…
In addition to sending one of the twelve home, tonight's Dancing With the Stars promises performances from Santana, India Arie and Daughtry, as well as a visit from last season's funnyman Adam Carolla.
