Michael Grimm Pops The Question!

Maybe it's winning a million dollars or maybe it's garnering the respect of America. Whatever it is, America's Got Talent winner Michael Grimm is keeping the momentum going. Grimm is now adding getting engaged to his busy week.

Michael Grimm

Michael Grimm asked that special lady in his life to marry him on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after dedicating a classic song to her.

During the episode, which airs Friday, September 17, Michael Grimm performs When a Man Loves a Woman and pops the question to his girlfriend Lucy.

The two have been dating for three years and Lucy has been a constant even before Grimm's America's Got Talent success. "She's been there for me," Michael Grimm beamed. "Once you find that good woman you hang on to her."

So, did Lucy agree to marry her main squeeze? How could you turn down that Southern gentleman? Of course she said yes.

Grimm got down on one knee during The Ellen DeGeneres Show but it wasn't just a whim. The 30-year-old headliner all but spilled the beans to Us Magazine that he might put a ring on it right after his AGT win. "I'm definitely not getting rid of her so I think that will be the next step," he said. "She is my rock, she is my girl."

Next up for Michael is headlining a tour across America and his own show in the bright lights of Las Vegas. Can't wait to see what this guy pulls out of his fedora next.

Mike doesn't receive a million dollar check. He gets an annuity, $25,000 a year, for a specific length of time. He's concentrating first on a new home for his grandparents. He's also got several charities to which he donates, mainly to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I also hope he enjoys a long and fruitful career. He's been working his butt off, in the trenches, for many, many years.

Of course he can afford now. Hope he won't be the second "chicken catcher", just disappearing after won 1 million dollars.
