In the vein of teen high school movies like Can't Buy Me Love and Love Don't Cost a Thing, Easy A tells the story of a girl who uses the rumor mill and peer perception to her advantage, socially and financially.
Instead of getting paid to pretend she's dating someone, however, Olive (Emma Stone) starts sleeping around for pay… sort of.
The good girl puts her name on the high school map by pretending to have loud, wild sex with her best gay pal, Brandon (Dan Byrd). Soon, she finds herself faking it with a slew of virgins, earning money and campus prestige.
Mean girl Marianne (Amanda Bynes) isn't amused and with the class reading The Scarlet Letter, she fires back with her own round of rumors to keep Olive from becoming too popular.
Unlike the heroine of The Scarlet Letter, however, Olive embraces the big A. She aims to wear her "Scarlet Letter" with pride, but the whole thing will likely backfire as a morality battle takes the campus by storm.
In the new trailer (below), Emma Stone's Olive opens by saying, "I used to be anonymous."
With quite a few films in the works, star Emma Stone may soon be saying the same! Stone has had standout performances in films like Superbad, Zombieland and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, but she's now making the big move to front and center.
In addition to carrying Easy A, she's already wrapped shooting Crazy, Stupid, Love with Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling and Marisa Tomei and is set to star as Skeeter in The Help, based on Kathryn Stockett's breakout novel.
Easy A also stars Twilight's Cam Gigandet, Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley, Hellcats' Alyson Michalka, Lisa Kudrow and Stanley Tucci.
