Mel Gibson's Leap Of Faith

During times of trouble, Mel Gibson did the only thing he could do -- turned to church.

Mel Gibson is in the midst of a messy custody battle with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, but that didn't stop him from turning to church for a little perspective over the weekend of July 24.

Despite being under public scrutiny for his raging racist rants and violent threats in a string of audio tapes, reports are surfacing that Mel Gibson left his Malibu home and made the trek to his own resurrected church for mass.

Mel Gibson has been at the center of controversy for the past couple of weeks, after audio tapes of him violently threatening his ex Oksana Grigorieva started popping up.

Mel Gibson built the church in 2003 and its daily mass follows the actor's "traditionalist views." According to reports, mass is performed in Latin and women must wear head coverings.

At this point, Gibson is going to need more than a prayer to help him through the latest mess he's gotten himself into. In the latest tape, posted by RadarOnline, Mel Gibson allegedly tells Oksana Grigorieva he regrets having a child with her.

"Did you get my last message about being a bad father and Tim being a great dad? You didn't hear that one? Well you should go (expletive) him...because I don't care," Mel Gibson ranted.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have been slinging mud at each other over the released audio for weeks and we might never get the real truth on their sudden appearance -- some reports claim Grigorieva is just getting back at Gibson for a breach of contract and the tapes have been edited.

If Mel Gibson's irrational freak-outs are indeed true, it has to be the actor's wake-up call.

I am not much, according to Hollywood standards, however I would not go to a church and try to get God to smoothing over things in my life for me. I have respect for Mr. Gibson a good actor? yes! A good God fearing man? No way!. I much say the movie The Passion was a good Hollywood replay of my Lord's life in this world, However Mr.Gibson still missed the real story...I would like to have just one day with Mr. Gibson to show him the real story of Jesus. I know this would never happen, however neither will running to a so called priest confessing his expecting God to make it better cleaning up dirty soul...What Mess!!!!!!!people like him playing in then laughing how they got out of it....

Come on now - how much of this crap is REALLY believable? I think the "ex" has made a lot of the story up in her brain - extortion comes to my mind - I think that we all have our "rant" moments - it just isn't blown out of proportion due to the fact - there are not millions of dollars involved
