Don’t freak out if you’re watching the Syfy network next year and you see Debbie Gibson and Tiffany squaring off -- you didn’t step into a time machine. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 1980s teen sensations are bringing their former competitive sides to the small screen in a new Syfy original movie.

In Mega Python vs Gatoroid, Debbie Gibson will reportedly play an animal rights activist bent on freeing exotic snakes from pet shops, giving them room to grow into gargantuan sizes.

Tiffany, on the other hand, steps into character as a park ranger with affection for helping endangered alligators. Innocent enough, right?

Debbie Gibson and Tiffany had the girl rivalry of the 1980s, people -- Shake Your Love versus I Think We're Alone Now. We clearly never got a winner in our hearts!

Thomas Vitale, Syfy's vice president of programming, told The Hollywood Reporter, "They loved the idea of taking this perceived rivalry and having some fun with it."

It's alleged the two will mix it up catfight style -- in a swamp.

Debbie, wait it's Deborah now, starred in last year's Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus. Mega Python vs Gatoroid is set to premiere next year.
