Hewitt and Asher were first spotted together at a dinner party just a few weeks after her breakup. "Jennifer was all over him," an unnamed Life & Style source reported last month. "They were holding hands and canoodling. She was not hiding her affection or attraction to him at all."
Then, People took the next step and confirmed that Hewitt and Asher are in fact and item. "They are dating," says their source. "They've been spending a lot of time together and are having fun. He showers her with attention and is helping her move on from her breakup with Jamie."
Speculation is that Asher and Hewitt first hooked up on the set of her hit The Ghost Whisperer. Asher recently taped a guest-starring spot where he worked alongside Hewitt's recent ex and current Ghost Whisperer star, Kennedy.
"Maybe earlier in my life that would've been a harder thing to do," she's said of working with her ex. "But with age comes growing up, and it's been OK. It's been fine."
While Asher has a long list of credits on both sides of the camera, he is most recognizable for being married to Jenny McCarthy and is father to her eight-year-old son, Evan. McCarthy recently made news with her breakup from Jim Carrey, .
No one from either camp is responding to the dating rumors, but romantic buzz certainly comes in handy when you're selling a book called, The Day I Shot Cupid: Hello, My Name Is Jennifer Love Hewitt and I'm a Love-aholic.
Over the years, Hewitt has been paired with the likes of Craig Ferguson, Carson Daly, Joey Lawrence, Wilmer Valderrama, John Mayer and former fiance, Ross McCall. Lately, she's been making the media rounds, opening up about her love addiction on radio and TV.
"I'm a hopeless romantic," she said on USA Today. "I love love. My middle name is Love. Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday."
With the recent news being dominated with celebrity cheating, Hewitt even admitted she's not immune. Apparently, Hewitt has been cheated on "a lot."
"Once I found out on television and that was awesome," she told Ryan Seacrest. "And then another time, I found them together!"
While on The Wendy Williams Show, she revealed her first date was with an older man, sort of. Hewitt was 14 to the more mature 16-year-old Fred Savage. While she gushed that the date was "so cute," it didn't go anywhere.
"We went to a comedy club and we went to dinner and he dropped me off at home," Hewitt told Williams. "He never called me again."
While Hewitt shoots cupid in her new book and also shoots down serial dating in favor serial monogamy, she clearly isn't ready to give up on love.
"It takes a lot of frogs to find your prince," she said on USA Today. "There's a reason that you date. Every relationship you're in teaches you something different about yourself and I feel like, at 31, there's still so much more I need to know about myself before I can completely give the perfect version of me to somebody, and vice versa."
