The nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards are announced on Tuesday, February 2, and Anne Hathaway has been tapped to make the big announcement!

Hathaway emcees Oscar's big reveal

The Oscar-nominated actress will join Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak to unveil the 2009 nominations in 10 of 24 categories at a 5:30 a.m. news conference.


Hathaway nabbed a leading actress nom last year for Rachel Getting Married, a role she spoke about with SheKnows [read it here]. She first gained notice as the not-so-ugly duckling at the center of The Princess Diaries movies.


Hathaway also starred in Bride Wars, Get Smart, Passengers, Becoming Jane and Brokeback Mountain.


As for coming attractions, Hathaway is one of the many familiar faces gracing the flick Valentine's Day, plays the White Queen in Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland, and will star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs



This is Hathaway's first year as a voting Academy member. She joined the exclusive Hollywood club in September, having been invited along with Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jane Lynch and 134 other industry folks.


The big Oscar event, which will be hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at 5 p.m. The show will also be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
