Woods gives $3M to Wyclef

Although headlines about Tiger Woods' transgressions have slowed down considerably as his whereabouts is unknown, he is making headlines yet again, this time for something good.

Tiger Woods gives $3 million to Wyclef JeanAccording to a tweet by Russell Simmons who reached out to the professional golfer, "Tiger Woods is doing something amazing! I heard Tiger Woods is donating to send a cargo plane with a mobile hospital [to Haiti]. Keep your prayers high!" Apparently Tiger is considering a $3 million donation.

Woods is not the only celebrity opening up his wallet. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to help the international relief organization bring rescue workers and medicine to Haiti two days after the massive earthquake. Lest us not forget musician Wyclef Jean who is leading a relief effort through his charity, Yele Haiti.

One of our fave actresses here at SheKnows, Alyssa Milano, donated $50,000 to UNICEF and is looking for a corporate donor to match her gift. Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and Ashton Kutcher are rallying the troops via Twitter and urging their followers to donate to the Red Cross, UNICEF and other relief organizations.

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, released a statement to express their support and condolences to Haiti. "Maria and I send our thoughts and prayers to the people of Haiti as they continue to respond to this tragedy, and on behalf of all Californians, we send our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims." The governor also authorized search and rescue teams in Los Angeles to go to Haiti to help out.

Considering the Golden Globes are this weekend, celebrity attendees are being asked to autograph items that will be auctioned off to support relief efforts in Haiti. Plus, a benefit concert is being planned next month to raise more money for relief efforts.
