For Your Entertainment, Indeed
Adam Lambert goes over the top for his American Music Awards performance and people are shocked? When Lambert hit the AMA stage to perform his first single from the same-named album, For Your Entertainment, everything from his outfit to the dancers gyrating behind him was expected. What wasn't anticipated with his numerous sexual innuendos that many feel crossed a line.
By the way, Lambert’s album debuts…guess when? Yes, November 23! Lambert’s performance fit the song’s title perfectly. It was entertaining and although we may wish for a better song for Lambert’s first single, it was also enthralling to witness his unmatched stage presence. Among Lambert’s overtly sexual moves included simulating oral sex, crotch-grabbing (please, Michael Jackson did that 20 years ago!) and same-sex kissing. The latter is probably what most upset critics. Lambert immediately lashed out any anyone who criticizes his performance as a double standard. Although Madonna’s kiss of Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears at the MTV VMAs caused a stir, it was more of a headline-generating moment than a controversy as Lambert now seems to be saddled with defending. As anyone knows in Hollywood, there really is (short of crime) no such thing as bad press. On the west coast, censors cut parts of Lambert’s performance deemed “too-sexual.” Those of us in Southern California are left wondering what we missed. SheKnows went out and got the east coast feed for our Lambert-adoring viewers. Adam Lambert’s AMA performance of For Your EntertainmentRead on for more musicThe complete American Music Awards report
