Ally's Finally On DVD

It is hard to believe that a legendary show such as Ally McBeal has never been on home video prior to October 2009.

Ally McBeal landed on Fox from the crazily imaginative brain of David E Kelley in 1997 and immediately took the nation by storm.

McBeal made a superstar out of its lead actress, Calista Flockhart. Ally also featured a cast of character that to this day or major players in the television industry including Lucy Liu, 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski, Peter MacNicol and Gil Bellows.

David E Kelley, before he created Boston Legal and after his prolific success with Chicago Hope, Picket Fences, LA Law, and of course, The Practice, had a lightning in a bottle moment with Ally McBeal and her band of legal eagles.

Ally McBeal differed from Kelley’s other projects in its use of music, comedy and spontaneous fantasy to further a storyline.

The show was at the same time compelling, emotional, hilarious, outlandish and outstanding.

That is why it is impossible to believe that, since the show went off the air in 2002, Ally McBeal fans have not had the opportunity to view these masterful episodes at home without depending on their local television channels to air reruns.

The producers of Ally McBeal thought wisely when they approached the idea of finally bringing the show to DVD. With the economy in a downturn, they have released the first 23-episode season on DVD solo simultaneously with the complete series DVD for those with a little extra cash and a lot of Ally McBeal catching up to do!
