Hollywood is abuzz about the idea that John Mayer and Kristin Cavallari are dating. In fact, sources close to Cavallari are reporting that the duo have been hooking up for almost two years.

John Mayer dates a lot! Two years…well, that means: John Mayer cheated on Jennifer Aniston with Kristin Cavallari!

How could Cavallari? The "trying to be an" actress, who is returning to reality TV this season with The Hills, was initially hesitant to involve herself with a notorious player such as Mayer. It now appears, the couple may go public.

Mayer has dated an army of actresses and celebrities from Aniston to Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Cavallari, on the other hand, has proven to be the type of Hollywood fixture that lives for publicity. As she is returning to The Hills and still tries valiantly to make it as a movie star, any news is good news for Cavallari.

Even it means you reportedly are dating one of Hollywood's biggest dogs.

Mayer and Cavallari have been supposedly pulling a LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian by hooking up at a friends' house in the Hollywood Hills. Those two couples should double date!

Kristin Cavallari and John Mayer: what do you think? When this public outing happens -- if ever -- we'll keep you posted. Not sure if Mayer would do The Hills, but he too does not appear to be above publicity for publicity's sake. So, perhaps, Mayer and Cavallari's big debut will be at the upcoming The Hills premiere. It could happen!

What also comes to light in this story is that while Mayer and Cavallari have been getting together in the Hollywood Hills at a pal's pad for two years, reports are surfacing that Mayer has reunited with Jessica Simpson. Two-timing Simpson too?
