Amidst an economy with countless unemployed Americans, Paula Abdul is one of them. Check that – she was one of them. After all, the former American Idol star has chosen her next job.
The Forever Your Girl singer made the big announcement on her Twitter feed. Abdul will be anchoring VH1 Divas next month.
So, what exactly does this mean you ask?
Paula will host this year's event which will air live on September 17 at 9:00 pm. And yes...she broke the news in less than 140 characters!
Abdul tweeted, "I'm really excited (to) announce I'll be hosting this year's VH1 Divas!"
In an interesting twist of fate, the show will honor some American Idol alums!
Although Ugly Betty fans may be bummed out that Paula will not play the role of a temp on ABC's popular show, they'll at least have something to cheer about on September 17 on VH1.
As per the VH1 press release, the star-studded night definitely looks like must-see TV:
"...superstar diva in her own right with sales of over 50 million records and six number one hits, multiple Emmy and Grammy awards winner Paula Abdul is set to host the VH1 Divas live concert event."
For the first time ever, these leading ladies at the top of their musical game will perform together live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York.
