Which song gets Rob?

Question ?SheKnows reader Jennifer Reed: Off all your songs solo or with Matchbox Twenty, which song gets you emotional when you perform it?

Rob Thomas' Crade Song is out nowRob Thomas: It really depends. They were all written at different times in my life for different reasons, so on some nights certain songs resonate more than others. 3 AM will always be a little bittersweet, since it was "my mom's song."

Question ?SheKnows reader Jackie Brown: Rob, congrats on your success and beautiful marriage! What is your biggest challenge as a songwriter?

Rob Thomas: I don't think about the process as a challenge. If there is one, it's just trying to make sure that I'm not writing the same song over and over. A lot of things feel similar, because I wrote them and I have my own style (whatever that is), but I don't want to just keep ripping myself off.

Outside of music

Question ?SheKnows reader Theresa: Hi Rob! Just wanted to know what your favorite thing is to do when you're not working (and do you have much down time?). Keep making great music, we love it! We'll see you at the Borgata.

Rob Thomas: I don't really have a lot of down time. My job and my life are so tied together, that one feeds the other. I like tennis. Mari and I see a lot of films and I read quite a bit. My favorite pastime is probably just spending time with my friends and family. That's lame. Let's say my favorite pastime is rocking out. Yeah. Better.

Hey, Rob...you are one artist my husband and I can both agree on!! You are an awesome performer! We have seen you in concert twice, once at the Pepsi Arena in Albany w/Matchbox 20 and just last night in Endicott, NY. When I listen to your music, everything makes sense...every song relates to something in my life. My favorite lyric?..."be my breath, so I can walk"....
