It's 1953 and women looking for love and a family life did not possess the options today's modern woman experiences.
Zellweger's character has decided to leave her cheating husband (Bacon) and hit the road with her two teenage sons.
Zellweger is Ann Devereaux and as played by Bacon, her husband Dan is a little less than desirable.
Teenage sons George, played by Logan Lerman, and Robbie (Mark Rendall), join their mother for a journey seeking a place to settle down and if fate has plans -- even a soul mate for mom.
But this is 1950s America and Ann's "dating" days are running out.
The landscape is littered with playboys eminating Hugh Hefner instead of men seeking to marry to a single mom with two sons.
Equally comic and compelling, My One and Only arrives in theaters on August 21 with one of Hollywood's brightest romantic comedy stars in Zellweger. The film also stars Eric McCormack, Chris Noth, Nick Stahl and Steven Weber.
My One and Only is also a picture about mothers and sons and the unbreakable bond that they share. As they go in and out of new schools seeking the perfect home, Ann's sons bring a maturity that in turn, allows their mother to blossom.
The most fascinating aspect of this film is it is based on the real-life story of actor George Hamilton!
