SYTYCD Crowns A Champ
Reality TV competitions got fierce last night and not everyone made it out unscathed whether on So You Think You Can Dance or America's Got Talent.
Ameirca's Got Talent recapOver on NBC, elimination was the name of the game on America's Got Talent and it's interesting how this worked out. The contestants were brought up in twos or threes and only one of each bunch was put through to the next round. Acrodunk, Kevin Skinner, Drew Thomas Magic and Grandma Lee took the top four spots. Then, if I'm understanding this right, the actual fifth and sixth place contestants as ranked by the audience votes face off for the final spot. By an odd coincidence it ended up being the two tweens in the competition, singer Thia Megia and dancer Arcadian Broad. That final spot is chosen by the judges so, as expected, Piers picked Thia, Sharon picked Arcadian and then David pretended it was all up to him. (Yeah, like they didn't discuss this before the show.) He chose Arcadian and that rounded out the top five who all move on to the semi-finals. At the top of the show, Nick Cannon said the results would be surprising. He was wrong. There wasn't one surprise in the bunch. Not that the show wasn't entertaining. Mariah Carey was in the house along with former winner Terry Fator who is still as amazing as I remembered. Tonight on TV bonus! Mariah Carey on AGTLeverage was also new last night and it was their best episode to date! It was a poignant episode that was as much about helping a boy find his own way in life as it was about sticking it to his criminal father. It was a laugh a minute as Sophie and Eliot both struggled to find the boy's talent only to discover that he can sing. This leads them to producing the science fair musical with songs about mold! If you missed it, catch it on a rerun, it will make you both smile and cry. Tonight's top TV picks: So You Think You Can Dance (8:00 Fox)Four dancers remain and tonight, one will be crowned America's Favorite Dancer! Will it be your favorite?
