LAPD statement: Michael Jackson is dead

Michael Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed that his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.

dearest michael: i did not know how much you meant to me until your death. i knew years ago you were unhappy but did not know why. my age is 62 yrs old and i feel i failed you by not hold you in my arms and comforting you all those yrs ago. you will never be forgotten or your sweet children. i love you michael and always will. love forever, judy
