America's Got Talent Recap!
America's Got Talent began with singing, dancing and yodeling. Last night was jam packed with talented people. First, the guys and gals of So You Think You Can Dance took the stage offering up everything from an elegant waltz to a gangster hip-hop.
Next it was on to America's Got Talent where clever ideas saved a few people who weren't all that talented. Like the 6-foot 4-inch dominatrix yodeler and the fiddling Polish triplets who couldn't stop speaking all at once. They put several dancing children through, though honestly, how would you make a Vegas lounge act out of that? And, as usual, there were the horrendous acts like the disco bouncer and the giant dancing blowfish. It is a weird and wacky world. I ended my night with a repeat of this week's She's Got the Look on TVLand. I don't usually watch this show but I was intrigued by the talk of one contestant's meltdown. Man, they weren't kidding. The series is like America's Next Top Model but for women over thirty-five. The women show up for judging and Laurie arrives in shorts, tank, sneakers and with a towel around her neck. She interrupts the process saying she wants to get this over with and no, she'd not quitting, but the judges should send her home. Now. Then she starts ranting about how all she wants to do is take care of the other women, she doesn't want to compete and then she pulls her top off and stands there, half naked, goading the judges to send her home. Home? How about to a rubber room? It was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen on a show like this. Of course, now, I'm hooked on the series. Okay, TVLand, you got me. Click here to watch Laurie's exit interview where she talks about why she exposed herself on TV.
So You Think You Can DanceThey danced their socks off last night but still one guy and one girl must go home. Who will it be? Phillip? Jason? Asuka? While the judges debate we'll be treated to a performance by The Veronicas. Watch So You Think You Can Dance at 9:00 on Fox. SupernaturalCan you really die of fright? Apparently you can and now Dean Winchester has Yellow Fever making him afraid of his own shadow. It's a hilarious episode of Supernatural that anyone can enjoy even if you haven't been keeping up with the series. Jensen Ackles screaming like a little girl -- now that's scary! Watch Supernatural at 9:00 on The CW Royal PainsThe chef from a trendy restaurant suffers a stroke but then disappears before Hank can properly treat her. Sounds like the chef has a medical secret that could endanger her life if she doesn't face facts. Watch Royal Pains at 10:00 on USA. Fall 09 sneak peakToday we look at Parenthood, airing Wednesdays at 8:00 on NBC. This TV remake of a Ron Howard movie is about grown children coming back together again at a crossroads in their lives. Maura Tierney is a single mom, forced to move back home with her two kids in order to make ends meet. Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia play her parents, with Peter Krause, Dax Shepard and Erika Christensen play her siblings who all have issues of their own.
