Moms Who Rock
In honor of Mother's Day, from Madonna to Gwen Stefani, we span the gamut of modern rock music to find the top music moms.
10. Jennifer Lopez
It was twins for the titan of pop. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony welcomed Emme Marbiel Muniz and Maximilian David Muniz on February 22, 2008.
Quite visibly pregnant, M.I.A. performed at the 2009 Grammy Awards to thunderous applause. Merely days later, she became the newest member of the moms who rock club with the birth of her baby boy, Ickett.
8. The Dixie Chicks
Yes, the Dixie Chicks could count for three moms who rock, but since they’re a band, we’re going to give the honor to the group collectively. All three Dixie Chicks are moms. Natalie Maines is a mom with two sons, Emily Robison and her hubby have a four-year-old son Charlie and two-year-old twins Henry and Juliana while Martie Maguire too has twins Eva and Kathleen, 3.
7. The Spice Girls
Another group, and another situation where all members are moms. That reunion tour the Spice Girls embarked on last year was less of a rock n’ roll tour than a portable nursery with five of the most glamorous pop stars in tow.
6. Nelly Furtado
Nevis is Nelly’s 4-year-old daughter who rocks her world more than any Timbaland-produced track could. Furtado's music career is booming and is another prime example of music moms who make it work. Furtado can be equal parts glamour, grunge and gregarious. In the end, to Nevis, she is simply 'Mom.'
