Speaking of the ghostly, last night Sam and Dean found and lost a baby brother in the space of forty-five minutes. It was the best Supernatural episode I've seen in a long time and left me both mighty happy and terribly sad. The sad came from the ending where the boys realize they've lost what could be the only blood relative they had left. The happy comes from the incredible tension, action and chills in this episode about ghouls who have moved on to snacking on the living instead of the dead.
Kudos to Supernatural for placing a subtle tribute to their fallen godfather, director Kim Manners in the episode. It came in the form of an advertisement for a local happy hour that contained a doctored photo of Manners as well as the initials KM. Again, so sweet and so sad.
Murder and mayhem was the theme of the night as I rolled from Supernatural into Harper's Island. This episode didn't hold my attention as last week's did, maybe because there was only one murder instead of three. Totally surprised, though, by who bought the big one. And what's with the red ink they found in suicide girl's eyes? Very creepy.Seems like tonight's viewing will be more of same but I'm good with that. I've been looking forward to this episode of Numb3rs since I first heard about it. I think I'll need to keep a box of tissues handy because this one is going to be a grabber.
