Reports are surfacing that Rihanna may be in the midst of making the biggest mistake of her young life: taking back her alleged abuser.
Confirmed sources say that the singer is spending time with Chris Brown at a home owned by Sean "Diddy" Combs.
"They're together again. They care for each other," says the source. "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves."
We're hearing that Brown showered Rihanna with gifts for her recent 21st birthday, including a new iPod and a diamond bracelet.
Why would Rihanna even entertain the notion of going back to a man who (allegedly) beat her so badly that she appeared to have horns growing from her forehead?
She was beaten. That is not in dispute. There are medical records and police photographs to prove it.
There are numerous reasons battered women stay with their abusers, none of which make any sense for anyone who has not been a victim of domestic violence.
Needless to say, if a victim stays, the violence will only escalate. Let's hope Rihanna takes a cue from Tina Turner before she winds up like Nicole Brown Simpson.
