Jett Travolta Passes

Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of actors John Travolta and Kelly Preston, died in the Bahamas after suffering head trauma in the family's vacation home.

The home's caretaker found Jett Travolta unconscious in a bathroom at the home in the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island late Friday morning. The teen was pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital.

According to a statement from chief police superintendent Basil Rahming, Jett had been seen going into the bathroom on Thursday, where he apparently hit his head on the bathtub. Jett reportedly suffered from Kawasaki disease, which can cause a variety of painful symptoms including seizures and heart problems. Some outside the family say that Jett actually had autism, although his parents never validated this claim."The Travolta family has become like family to us at Old Bahama Bay and we extend our deepest sympathies to them," says Robert Gidel, president of Ginn Resorts, the property's owner.Jett was named for his father's love of planes. John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston (Jerry Maguire, Medium) also have an 8-year-old daughter, Ella.
