Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade gets Rickrolled by the real Rick Astley

RickRolled at the parade

Everyone watching the 84-year-old Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade got surprised with a very modern in-joke at the 2008 event.
Rickrolled paradeWhen Cartoon Network's float for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, rolled into Herald Square during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the cast puppets were singing "Best Friend," (the theme from the 1970s TV series The Courtship of Eddie's Father).

But then -- about a minute into the song -- the float got live RickRolled by Rick Astley himself.

Astley emerged from inside the float and began to sing (well, lip synch) his 1987 hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up." (Rick Astley, we must say, has held on to his looks -- and his hair -- quite nicely over the years).
