Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson is in mourning tonight after her mother and brother were shot dead in a Chicago home. Her seven-year-old nephew remains missing.
Church members confirmed Darnell Hudson Donerson was one of two adults found shot to death inside the home. "This is a very sad day to get that kind of news," said Pastor Willie Davis of Progressive Baptist Church. "This is really going to be a major, major blow to such a wonderful person... But we know through our faith in God she'll get through it."
A relative confirmed the second victim as Hudson's brother Jason.
The missing boy is Donerson's seven-year-old grandson, Julian King. The murders and abduction may be part of an ongoing domestic dispute and are looking for a known suspect, William Balfour, whom they say should be considered armed and dangerous. An Amber Alert has been issued for the boy, who could be traveling with Balfour in a white Chevy Suburban with license plate 'X58-4859,' or a teal green Chrysler Concord with a temporary license plate and a broken left headlight.
King is a black male with brown eyes and black hair, standing five feet tall and weighing 135-pounds. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of King or his abductor should not approach the pair but call 911 immediately.
Hudson rose to fame with her American Idol run and went on the win an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls.
She recently announced her engagement to boyfriend David Otunga.
