Hudgens and Efron have been an item since the Disney Channel first filmed the hit movie three years ago. Now, with High School Musical 3 hitting the big screen on October 24, both are set to explode to greater heights in their individual careers.
Hudgens released her CD Identified this past summer and watch for her in a few as-to-be-determined features. Plus, she has a new admirer, Tom Cruise. The actor has reportedly taken an interest in the starlet. Yes, this has shades of his inviting Katie Holmes to his office for a "meeting."
But, Cruise insists he can see big things in Hudgens, which can only mean one thing – she will be hitting the screen in some enormous films in the future.
Efron, on the other hand, has been quite busy on the big screen. His next foray will be 17 Again, think Big in reverse. Next up is his turn in Richard Linklater's Me and Orson Welles.
The actor has said he wants to be part of a film franchise like James Bond or the Bourne Identity series and frankly, SheKnows could see it. He's got dashing good looks, incredible screen presence and those baby blue eyes could pierce any heart – both bad and good.
Did we mention the remake he's heading…Footloose? If anyone could reinvent a role made famous by Kevin Bacon, it's Efron.

Hudgens and Efron's High School Musical 3 premieres October 16 in Hollywood before making its way across the country in theaters October 24.
