Lopez is considering a lawsuit against The Daily Beast concerning their claims that she suffered a breakdown while filming Enough. Writer Kevin Sessums is at the center of the storm for quotes that Lopez says was taken out of context and misused.
Jennifer Lopez's representatives issued a statement to quickly quell the story and go on the public relations offensive.
"We're very unhappy about it, and think it was poor judgment on his (Sessums) part.
"As long as we have represented Jennifer, we have never heard her refer to having a breakdown of any sort."
The Daily Beast is standing by their writer, although they are leaving some room between them and the writer by claiming he is the sole "owner" of the piece. "The story accurately reports what Kevin Sessums learned from Ms Lopez in his interview," a spokesman says.
"He (Sessums) owns the story and The Daily Beast was happy to publish it."
