Too Racy For TV

Eva Mendes thought her advertisement for Calvin Klein was simple enough.

Too much? Let us know! Not so simple, Mendes is completely nude and American networks have said they will not broadcast the advertisement.

The Calvin Klein perfume advertisement is for Secret Obsession and features the nude starlet lying sensuously on a bed as she caresses her chest.

"Between love and madness lies obsession," Mendes says in the ad. "Love...madness. It's my secret."

Although the major networks may have felt that Mendes' nude advertisement was not worthy of broadcast without a censor, cable networks, always ready for a folly, will air the ad as it was shot.

It could be argued that although the Janet Jackson Super Bowl controversy fine was overturned by a court earlier last month, the networks are still gun shy about airing anything of an overtly sexual nature.

Time will tell if that softens, after all, this is network TV, the land that brought us ABC's NYPD Blue and naked behinds over a decade ago.
