Salma Hayek calls of engagement

"We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled. There will be no further comment," said Cari Ross, Hayek's spokeswoman, in a statement.

Salma and Francois announced their engagement in the spring of 2007, several months before the September birth of their daughter Valentina, and bought a fabulous manse in Bel Air.

Salma's other baby is the hit TV show "Ugly Betty", of which she is the executive producer and sometimes guest star.

Francois is the head of French multinational holding company PPR, which controls such luxury brands as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Sergio Rossi, Boucheron, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Balenciaga.
