Launched as an effort to raise gay rights awareness, Lauper will open the tour in Boston as it hits 24 cities across America.
The headliners will be comedienne Rosie O'Donnell and the B-52s. Carson Kressley from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" will host the trek, not steering too far from "True Colors" mission of promoting gay rights.
The tour begins May 31 in Boston and closes out its run July 5 in Morrison, Colorado. The 54-year-old singer is also excited to bring along surprise guests that will pop up randomly along the tour. The short list for those surprise acts includes Joan Jett, comedienne Wanda Sykes, the Indigo Girls and Regina Spektor.
