Updated Aug. 23, 2017, 10 a.m. PT: Mystery solved!
We expected Taylor Swift to keep up with her pattern of tweeting once per day, but of course, she had to surprise us by dropping this bomb:
The name totally explains all those weird snake videos, since, you know, Swift had a reputation for being a snake during the fallout from her lie about approving lyrics for Kanye West. Very interesting, Tay. Very interesting indeed.
Updated Aug. 23, 2017, 8 a.m. PT: We all kind of saw where this was going. For the third day in a row, Taylor Swift posted a video of a black snake to her Twitter and Instagram. Only now, when the three videos are combined, they show the full snake, so it would appear this is the last one.
The internet has been kicking around a lot of theories about these videos, and we think it's pretty clear that Swift is up to something — that is, she's releasing new music any second now.

We don't know anything for sure about new music yet, but we do know quite a bit about black snakes as symbols and omens.
Biblically, snakes have long been symbols of evil and deceit. But other cultures rarely see snakes that way. Instead, the slithering reptiles are symbols of the Earth and nature magic.
Snakes can serve as reminders that humans have great power and can direct that power into creativity to make great things. Snakes are also seen as a symbol of wisdom in many cultures.
Whatever it is exactly that Swift is trying to communicate with these videos is still a mystery, but she's certainly going for a dramatic reveal here, so we can't help but think something big is right around the corner, and we're going to see a different Taylor Swift than we've seen before. If you thought she was powerful now, just you wait.
Updated August 22, 2017, 9:25 a.m. PT: As if right on cue, Taylor Swift posted yet another cryptic snake video to her Twitter on Tuesday morning. This time around, we can see more of the snake as it writhes around.
What are you up to, Swift? For now, the plot simply thickens.
Updated Aug. 21, 2017, 10 a.m. PT: Taylor Swift has posted again on social media for the first time since wiping all the content from her accounts, but it's probably not what you expect.
Possibly in reference to all the controversy that has surrounded her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Swift posted a bizarre black and white video of what appears to be a snake's tail moving slowly as the video cuts in and out.
Predictably, her fans have gotten over-the-top excited about this development. It's been three years since she last announced new music, and the hashtag #TS6IsComing has been trending on Twitter since she posted the video on both her Twitter and her Instagram account on Monday morning.
So is it a nod to all that hate she got in the past? Is it an album announcement? A single announcement? A video announcement? Is it a hack? OK, it's probably not a hack because both videos have been live for over an hour as of the time of this update but anything is possible, guys.
There are still so many questions, but what we do know is that Swifties are here for this — the videos have been watched, liked and shared more than 2 million times on both platforms. Hopefully, this is news that something big is coming.
On Friday, the internet was shocked to discover that Taylor Swift erased most of the posts on all of her social media accounts and her personal website without any discernible warning or the release of a personal statement. What on earth is happening, and is Swift OK?
Pictures and posts on Swift's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts mysteriously disappeared on Friday. While some have been reposted, her accounts are devoid of profile photos or even a current post to explain what's going on. This has left her fans both intrigued and worried; they took note immediately, as it was happening, and voiced a range of concerns, including the possibility that Swift's accounts had been hacked.

What could Swift possibly be doing? While a personal break from social media might be one good thought, it’s also possible that she’s prepping us all for a major return to the music scene. It's certainly not out of the ordinary for a singer to do something extreme in order to get the public's attention, so Swift might be taking a page out of that playbook in order to announce a new album or maybe even a world tour.
Swift has been relatively quiet all summer. Her annual Fourth of July bash didn’t pan out for fans who were anticipating it on social media. She's also been very private about her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. The duo have been pretty stealthy in avoiding the paparazzi. Swift additionally has kept a low profile because of her now-closed sexual assault case against former DJ David Mueller, for which she was awarded $1 and was cleared in his countersuit against her.
So, can we expect a new album soon? Is Swift reinventing herself the way Madonna has done throughout her career? Will she unexpectedly drop an album at midnight the way Beyoncé does so well? It's sending everyone into Sherlock Holmes mode as fans scramble to find answers.
There are a lot of questions to be answered, but Swift definitely wants us to look at the clues. She is starting fresh on every single account. She might be ready for a rebirth, after which all of the girl squad events will be a distant memory and any fight with Katy Perry will be nothing but ancient history.
Are you ready for a Taylor Swift renaissance? It looks like it's coming, but we don't know exactly when.
