We may be right in the middle of a trend of TV revivals, but the hardest thing about reviving even the most beloved of shows hasn't changed: getting the full cast on board.
For Gossip Girl fans, that struggle is all too real. The hit drama, which ended four years ago, is one name that's been kicked around for a revival. But one of Gossip Girl's stars, Ed Westwick, isn't interested in a reunion.
"Nah, that's not gonna happen," Westwick, who played the ridiculously hot/ridiculously sleazy Chuck Bass, told Radio Times. "I know there's a bunch of them coming back — I hear they're doing Will and Grace, they've done Gilmore Girls... But it's such a strange thing to think about. It feels like we only just finished! And I haven't done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortably revisit it. And I did so much with that character — it's played out, man. It's done."
Oh, wait. Westwick isn't writing it off completely, because he would do it for Netflix if there was a shit ton of money involved — "I'll do it then," he told Radio Times — but you can just insert an eye roll here.
We couldn't really picture a Gossip Girl reboot without Westwick, but we're not giving up hope just yet. In the same interview, he admitted that his career has stalled out a little bit since Gossip Girl ended. "There hasn't been the greatest amount of [script] material coming through," he said, adding that he's auditioned and been passed over for "hundreds of jobs."
You know what job wouldn't pass him over, though? The Gossip Girl reboot. Just sayin'.
