'Malibu' Miley Cyrus is not 'Wrecking Ball' Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus apparently wishes the most memeable thing she's ever done had just not happened, and it's so disappointing.

In 2013, Cyrus' video for "Wrecking Ball" debuted featuring her sitting naked atop a giant wrecking ball, seductively licking a hammer, smashing some walls and other awesomeness. It was a really great video. Like, really great. It was visually stunning and instantly iconic.

But Cyrus is having a little bit of an image makeover lately and is hard at work rebranding herself as a folksy singer-songwriter, a pretty notable departure from "Wrecking Ball," twerking, tattoos and marijuana, the controversial things that have defined her in the last few years of her career.

That's what she was reflecting on when she appeared on the Zach Sang Show this week and was asked to play "Marry, Fuck, Kill" with three of her hit singles. She said she'd marry "The Climb," fuck "Seven Things" and kill "Wrecking Ball."

"That's something you can't take away — swinging around naked on a wrecking ball lives forever," she said. "Once you do that, it's forever. I'm never living that down. I will always be the naked girl on a wrecking ball."

And seeing that scene where she licks the hammer just makes her cringe now.

"I just licked the sledgehammer. I should have thought how long that was going to follow me around," Cyrus said. "That's my worst nightmare, that being played at my funeral."

Of course, there could be other reasons Cyrus is ready to leave "Wrecking Ball" firmly in her past. It's been long rumored that the song was about her breakup with Liam Hemsworth, and the two are now back together, engaged again and looking to the future, not the past.
