After more than a year of dating, Amy Schumer and her furniture designer boyfriend Ben Hanisch have decided to throw in the towel on their relationship. They announced their split through a joint statement issued by Schumer's rep.
"Amy and Ben have ended their relationship after thoughtful consideration and remain friends," the statement read. At least if these two have to break up, they seem to have done it pretty amicably.
Schumer and Hanisch dated for a year and a half, and on their first anniversary last November, they both shared sweet sentiments for each other on social media, Hanisch even going so far as to say Schumer was the love of his life.
"A year ago I met the love of my life," he wrote next to a sweet black and white photo of them together that he posted to Instagram. "We both weren’t looking for a relationship at the time, but something felt right from the very first night we met. We ended up spending 6 days in a row together. This pic was taken in New Orleans and was the night I knew I wanted to spend my life with her."
Schumer, on the other hand, stuck to her trademark abrasive comedy and shared a photo of Hanisch eating a sandwich with the caption, "A year ago today I met the love of my life. Happy anniversary fuckface. #Iwantoseeotherpeople."
We really thought these two were in it for the long haul. Here's hoping they figure their ish out and get back together.
