Does Kirsten Storms' Social Media Return Hint at a General Hospital Return Too?

Kristyn Burtt is an LA-based entertainment reporter who has covered everything from 'Dancing With the Stars' to the Oscars. If she’s not on the red carpet, she’s at home in yoga pants watching Netflix and eating potato chips.

Kristen Storms' Instagram reappearance was enough to get General Hospital fans talking

Kirsten Storms' health has been a hot topic of conversation this winter. General Hospital fans were voicing their concern about her gaunt appearance in February.

Storms has not addressed her health issues, but she did take a break from the show and from social media. The producers sent her character, Maxie, off to Portland to pursue a job offer and visit her daughter Georgie.

In the past, her role was temporarily recast. Last spring, it was former Days of Our Lives star Molly Burnett, who filled in for her while Storms’ allowed her skin issues to clear up.

The good news is that Storms popped up on social media this weekend to thank everyone for the birthday wishes, and she shared a photo on Instagram. While she didn’t have much to say in her caption, Storms looked beautiful and less angular than her last General Hospital appearance.

Fans swarmed her comments feed with warm wishes about how much she was missed and how lovely she looked. They were happy she was making her health a priority — whether it was tied to her recent divorce from Brandon Barash or an ongoing physical issue, GH fans shared their support.

While spoilers so far do not reveal a return of Maxie to Port Charles just yet, Storms posting to social media definitely sparks speculation that a return to work might be in order soon. Producers made a clear decision not to recast her role, so fans are hoping to see her back on their television screens soon.

No matter what the issue is, Storms will make the best decision for herself and her family on whether it needs to be addressed. A happy and healthy woman is what GH fans want to see and a return to the show would be welcome when she’s ready.
