Alan Thicke died on Tuesday, Dec. 13 after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his son, Carter, Entertainment Tonight reports. He was 69.
Today I lost my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of it's finest. You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time. pic.twitter.com/ZQd2NZMTx4— Carter Thicke (@CarterThicke) December 14, 2016
His other son, Robin Thicke, took to Instagram to confirm the news and pay tribute to the late actor (whose career spanned five decades and saw him in roles such as the beloved Jason Seaver in the sitcom Growing Pains). Robin revealed that his dad was the best man he ever knew and his best friend.
However, Robin was not the only person to react to the news of Thicke's death, and social media has been filled with tributes. Among the reactions are tweets from Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rob Lowe, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Ellen DeGeneres, David Hasselhoff and Ben Stiller — all of whom were deeply touched by the legacy that Thicke left.
