As far as celebrity couples go, Sam Worthington and Lara Bingle are notoriously private — which only makes them even more fascinating. Over the years, we've come to expect them to remain tight-lipped about all things of a personal nature, so, of course, no one was shocked that they didn't announce the birth of their second child.
But after much speculation, we've finally got confirmation that the baby was born. According to Marie Claire Australia, the couple welcomed a second son into the world two weeks ago in their adopted hometown of New York.
There's no word yet on what baby No. 2 is called, and if the last time Bingle gave birth (to their son, Rocket Zot Worthington) is any indication, the couple are not going to be very forthcoming with that information. Plus, it's not really a priority for them right now, as a source told Marie Claire Australia (Bingle's on the cover of the December issue) that they "are just focused on enjoying this special time together, and settling into a new routine."
Getting into a routine is certainly important for the couple because as Bingle revealed during the interview, she and Worthington intend to share routines so that both their sons will still get one-on-one time with them. Bingle also previously revealed that they're against hiring outside help, and being hands-on parents is something that's very important to them — although that doesn't include grandmas, as Bingle's mom, Sharon Bingle, was reportedly spotted flying to New York a few weeks ago to spend time with her daughter and new grandchild.
Pregnancy for Bingle was reportedly easier the second time around (she will also have a lasting memory of it because she created a belly cast) and we aren't all that surprised that she and Worthington are second-time parents because Bingle has never hidden her desire to have more children. During an interview with Today Extra she exclaimed, "I would love to have more children, definitely" — so it comes as no surprise that — according to the Marie Claire source — she "couldn't be happier."
She echoed these thoughts just days before her due date, as she told Marie Claire that she was excited to be giving Rocket Zot a sibling: "Creating that same sense of family is special and I know they'll have lots of fun together, especially being so close in age."
Congratulations are definitely in order for the couple, and let's hope we get to see a picture or at least hear a name in the near future.
