The Evil Queen is officially back in action. After Regina literally ripped her evil half out of herself at the end of Season 5 and then her evil half resurrected itself, Once Upon a Time fans have been waiting to see the Evil Queen back to her old habits.
Well, she certainly returned to them in Sunday's episode. First, let me just say how wonderful it is to get double the Lana Parrilla this season. Not only do we get to see her play good as Regina, but we also get to see her go dark as the Evil Queen. She is just all-around fantastic.
Even though the Evil Queen wants to bring terror, heartache and tears to the town of Storybrooke, I can't help but enjoy her evilness. Her bad side is so deliciously satisfying. It's partly due to Parrilla playing the Evil Queen splendidly, but it's also partly due to the Evil Queen making fans sit on the edge of their seats, waiting to see what she'll do next.
For example, viewers have been concerned about those from the Land of Untold Stories and what their stories are, but thanks to the Evil Queen, now we're all wondering about Snow, Charming, Regina and everyone else in Storybrooke's untold stories.
That's right. They all have secrets and things they've done that they don't want getting out, but the Evil Queen could care less. She is going to do whatever it takes to expose the dirt she has on everyone and then, as she put it so ruthlessly, "I'll just sit back and watch you tear yourselves apart." Did anyone else get chills when she made that declaration?
She even approached David at the end and gifted him with a trinket. Per Charming, it was a good-luck charm wrapped around his dad's wrist before he left the family farm and was killed in a cart accident — though his death might not have been an accident at all. As the Evil Queen said to David, "I'm here to ask you one question: Are you sure it was an accident?" Her little bit of turmoil is already affecting Storybrooke.
The fact that she's going to use Regina as a pawn to destroy everyone's happy ending is beyond cold, but that's the Evil Queen for you. The way she played Regina and got her to kill the Count of Monte Cristo just shows you how far the Evil Queen is willing to go. She is definitely more evil than ever.
Not only can't I wait to see what she does next, but I'm extremely curious to hear about these untold stories from the characters I know and love. As TVLine previously reported, something from Snow and Charming's past will come back to haunt them, so the Evil Queen will probably be responsible for that. Whatever it is remains unknown, but I am all about the gossip she's carrying.
Bring on the darkness and expose those secrets, Evil Queen, because I am so here for it.
