Did someone say road trip? The Backstreet Boys are taking on Vegas, baby

Sarah grew up in Monterey, CA and now lives in Los Angeles. When she's not writing, you can find her enjoying a good book, fine wine, sunflowers and long walks on the beach.

All of our '90s boy-band dreams are coming true: The Backstreet Boys are getting a Vegas residency

Ever since their freaking amazing cameo at the end of This Is the End in 2013, we'll admit, our Backstreet Boys fever has been back with a vengeance. The moves, the outfits, their angelic faces in heaven — the appearance had us swooning like it was 1999.

They've been popping up places here and there since then — like in the Syfy movie Dead 7 — but then they'd disappear again, leaving our BSB itch unscratched. But the boys just made a major announcement: They're taking on a Las Vegas residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino beginning March 1, 2017, and we honestly couldn't be any giddier.

"Hey everybody! We are on location at a photoshoot for our upcoming residency, March 2017, in Las Vegas," A.J. McLean said in a Twitter video surrounded by Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough. "So... be there!"

Um, don't worry, we will.

And, according to the guys, the show — which is titled Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life — is going to be bigger than any BSB event we've ever witnessed.

"We're going to call the show Larger Than Life, and we're taking that theme and we're going to run with it," Richardson said in a press release posted at their website.

"What can you expect?" Littrell added. "If you've ever been to a Backstreet Boys show… it's going to be that on steroids."

"We're excited to bring our experience from being a touring act with all of our hits to Vegas so that it becomes something that you'll never forget," said Carter.

The Backstreet Boys followed up the announcement of their big news with a goosebump-inducing surprise appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival during Florida Georgia Line's time on stage.
