On Tuesday night, Tara Reid took to Instagram to share a photo of herself looking battered and bruised. She captioned it with, "Everyone be kind to each other. This is what bullying looks like. #Worthless."
The image immediately sparked concern among fans that Reid was crying out for help after being beaten up, with comments on her post including one from ricky_perdigao, who wrote, "@tarareid what happened to u girl? Please tell me this is a joke no woman should ever be treated like that."
"Where is this piece of shit there is a lot of hurt waiting for them," thomastuell77 commented. And diana_jaimes09 also seemed very concerned writing, "Omg are u ok???? Bullying is not ok? What happened?"
Other comments are a mixture of confusion and distress, with fans asking: "Are you alright?," "WTF! Are you ok," and "God I hope you're ok Tara my dear."
However, while the picture is shocking, we think that's the reaction Reid was going for, as she failed to mention she was wearing makeup for a new project she's working on, a film about bullying entitled Worthless. We have a feeling that she wanted people to be shocked and distressed about a topic as serious as bullying — something she has experienced firsthand, as she is constantly being skinny-shamed and criticized over her appearance.
Although Reid did take to Twitter to eventually put her fans' minds at ease.
She also tweeted about her excitement to be a part of this project.
I'm so excited being back in New Jersey where I was born and raised. I'm shooting my new movie Worthless it's an anti bullying movie.— Tara Reid (@TaraReid) September 13, 2016
However, some of Reid's fans feel it was irresponsible of her to make everyone so concerned without offering any explanation.
"If this is make up you're worrying a lot of people for nothing," ladyflopo wrote. Rhibirm83 agreed, writing, "if its make up think u should give a heads up ....ppl are concerned."
While chadboy1e demanded an explanation. They wrote, "You can't post and not explain yourself. What happened."
