There's one thing wrong with this pic of Taylor Swift at jury duty

Sarah grew up in Monterey, CA and now lives in Los Angeles. When she's not writing, you can find her enjoying a good book, fine wine, sunflowers and long walks on the beach.

Not even Taylor Swift can get out of jury duty, so just accept it

That moment when you pull that oh-so-very official-looking envelope from the county out of your mailbox. Your heart beats fast, you feel a little faint, and your mind starts racing with every frickin' excuse under the sun. That's right, you've been summoned.

Jury duty?! Ain't nobody got time for that.

Except for maybe Taylor Swift. Because while most of us look like this when we open up that dreaded summons:

...this was pretty much Swift's reaction after her number came up to serve on a jury:

OK, so maybe we're being a little dramatic, but Swift was photographed by some fellow jurors this week looking pretty chipper considering she had just been chosen to serve her civic duty.

Swift beamed in the courthouse waiting room, happily posing for selfies and signing autographs for fans. Someone sitting in the same room with Swift tweeted that she had been picked for voir dire on Monday morning, which is defined by law.com as "the questioning of prospective jurors by a judge and attorneys in court."

Maybe the timing of her jury duty has something to do with her excitement. Swift — who has been embroiled in a bitter feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian — was legally bound to attend jury duty in Tennessee, which provided her with an excellent excuse to skip out on the 2016 MTV VMAs and some potentially uncomfortable interactions on Sunday night.

Swift also conveniently missed out on West's speech at the VMAs, which was laced with references to her. He even walked up to the podium to the sound of his song "Famous," which is allegedly the root cause of all the latest drama between him and Swift.

What's worse? Facing your enemies on the world stage, or serving time on a panel of jurors? You be the judge — tell us what you think in the comments below.
