Seriously, what the heck is happening on Dead of Summer? I am so lost and have no idea what the ominous Tall Man is up to at Camp Stillwater, but I guess that's the point, right?
However, there is one thing I do know for certain and that is Deb and Joel's relationship is creepy. I mean, it may even be creepier than every horrifying thing that's happened so far at the camp.
For a refresher, Deb is the camp's director and Joel is a camp counselor. Yes, there is an age gap, which isn't usually a big deal to me, but the fact that Joel is a teenager and Deb is an adult woman in her 40s? Um, not so much. I've already had to deal with the creepy factor between Ezra Fitz and Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars; I don't need to deal with it all over again on Dead of Summer.
Oh, and let's also talk about the fact Joel has filmed Deb with his camera that is attached to his hand through her window. Let's also not forget how Deb didn't mind him spying on her. Let's also remember how Deb has also encouraged Joel. Plus, let's also take a moment to reflect on the following, which occurred during Episode 2.
Anyone else really disturbed from the above? Anyone else still cringing and shutting their eyes? Is anyone else still reeling from being super uncomfortable? Yeah, me, too.
Is anything going to happen between them? That remains to be seen, but here's hoping nothing does. There's still a chance the weirdness between them could dissipate. Maybe the Tall Man will get in the way or one of them could easily bite the dust?
Hey, it sure seems like anything can happen at Camp Stillwater, but let's just hope that doesn't include anything romantic between Deb and Joel.
Dead of Summer airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Freeform.
