It's not very often that die-hard fans of a show rally to have their favorite program canceled, but that's exactly what's happening among Castle's loyal following right now.
While the show is yet to be officially renewed for Season 9, news that stars Nathan Fillion and Seamus Dever have renewed their contracts has been circling around the internet, and the Castle fan base is outraged production is even thinking about going on without Stana Katic — who will exit the show in the May 16 finale — as Captain Kate Beckett.
A deluge of Castle viewers is pushing for a satisfying Season 8 ender that will also serve as a series finale. #NoMoreCastle has taken over Twitter and fans are protesting that the show simply can't go on without Katic.
Many argue that Castle is not just a police procedural, but about Beckett and Castle's relationship.

This is the foundation on which the show was built. Why remove the cornerstone? NO MORE CASTLE
This show was always about Richard Castle telling us the story of Kate Beckett through his eyes. Without her he has no story. NO MORE CASTLE— Nic6879 (@nic6879) May 9, 2016
Others are incensed that the show would treat Beckett so poorly.
No one, and I repeat no one deserves a happy ending more than Kate Beckett. NO MORE CASTLE pic.twitter.com/dvRj5Fn3qF— Angel Costa (@angelcosta78) May 9, 2016
So many stories out there about how Kate Beckett helped people overcome their fears.— Watch what you love. (@Sandraxf) May 9, 2016
How can you think she's disposable, ABC? NO MORE CASTLE
And many, many more stand behind Katic, who was rumored to have been forced off the show against her will.
My heart hurts everytime I remember Stana got fired. Fired. It wasn't her choice to leave. This will never be okay.— cam loves stana (@Fantaskatic) May 9, 2016
NO MORE CASTLE
While Fillion might think he's sitting pretty with his contract renewal, his very presence is exactly what is pissing off a majority of viewers. Rumors have run rampant that Katic's departure was because of a feud between her and Fillion, and there's also been accusations that Fillion treated Katic horribly onset.

NO MORE CASTLE
Fillion posted a farewell to Katic/Beckett on Twitter a couple days after her firing was announced, but his words only infuriated fans.
"Castle has been one of the greatest joys of my creative life, and I hope the show continues on for years to come," Fillion wrote. "Stana has been my partner all this time, and I thank her for creating the character of Beckett who will live on for all of us as one of the greatest police officers on television. I wish her well, and have no doubt she will succeed in everything she pursues. She will be missed."
Sounds benign, but his words were construed as a backhanded slap in the face to Katic.
